Scoring
Your score is calculated by adding the number of words you’ve placed so far to the number of unused letters remaining.
Because you want to minimise your score, generally, the best strategy is to reach the goal using fewer, but larger words.
Rules
- Black squares are impassable terrain
- You only have a set number of letters to make the crossing, shown in the keyboard at the bottom of your screen.
- The indicator at the top right of each key shows how many of it you have left (e.g. you have 3 R’s in the picture below).
- If you run out of a letter, it will be greyed out (e.g. T below)
- Each placed word must be a valid english word, and connect to either the start square, or another placed word.
Controls
- Tap a square to move the cursor there.
- Tap a key to place it in the current square, if possible
- Tap your current square again to change the direction you’ll move in next.
- Press Enter to attempt to lock in the current word. If it is a valid word, the text colour will change to black.
- Press the reset button to retry the level.
Computer-keyboard bindings
- Enter: attempt to lock in a word.
- Tab: switch the direction.
- Backspace: delete letter at current position.
- Escape: remove current word.
- Arrow keys: move in direction.
